Dr. Edward Christopher “Chris” Dee grew up in Manila, Philippines, and Vancouver, Canada. He attended Yale University, studying molecular biophysics and biochemistry. Chris then worked in global health and health policy in New Delhi, Manila, and Washington, D.C. He attended Harvard Medical School and conducted prostate cancer clinical research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He also conducted health services research, with a focus on cancer disparities, financial toxicity, and oncology care delivery in lower-middle-income countries. He is currently a resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Chris’s ongoing health services and global oncology research focuses on cancer care delivery – including access to molecular diagnostics – in Southeast Asia and other similarly resourced settings. His group also explores US cancer disparities, financial toxicity, and cultural competency. Chris’s clinical research centers on prostate cancer and lung cancer, with a growing focus on oligometastatic disease. He maintains global research collaborations with experts in the US, Canada, the UK, India, the Philippines, Singapore, and many others.
