Nada Shaker is a Surgical/Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology fellow at UCSF, where she is responsible for independent practice in intraoperative frozen sections, surgical pathology calls, tumor boards, gross room supervision, and teaching sessions for residents. Throughout her training, she has derived great pleasure from collaborating with expert pathologists. Nada has actively engaged in academic pursuits, resulting in numerous oral and poster presentations at national conferences and over 80 publications in diverse fields, including dermatopathology, bone and soft tissue, breast, digital pathology, and artificial intelligence. By the beginning of her third year of residency, she had achieved senior authorship on several conference presentations and published articles.
Nada holds a master's degree in biotechnology and international business from the University of Grenoble, France, and has contributed to publications in French-language journals. Recognized for her academic achievements, she has received several awards during her residency. She has also had the privilege of closely working with pathology residents and medical students.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Nada is actively involved in educational and community-oriented initiatives. She has been nominated to join the awards committee at the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) in 2023 and participates in several subcommittees, including the education committee, the Marcom social media committee, and the Pathology Visions conference planning committee. She is also involved in oral proposals and abstracts reviewing final selection, and the travel award selection committee of the Digital Pathology Association (DPA), as well as the trainee subcommittee at the Association of Pathology Informatics (API). Recently, she was honored to be selected as a Future Pathology Champion, an initiative led by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
