Dr. Maria E. Arcila, MD is a molecular pathologist and hematopathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Her primary focus is the design, validation and implementation of molecular testing methods to detect genetic alterations that are relevant to the diagnosis, management, classification, treatment and monitoring of patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Arcila is the president elect for the Association for Molecular pathology and has been an active member of AMP for the past decade, participating in several committees, task forces and initiatives, as well as serving as Chair of the Hematopathology Subdivision and as solid tumor representative for the Teaching and Education Committee. In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Arcila’s passion is in education and mentorship, believing this to be the key to empowering a new generation of medical professionals.
