Laura Dillon, PhD, FACMG is a Staff Scientist and the Director of Laboratory of Operations for the Laboratory of Myeloid Malignancies at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She received her BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 2006 and her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wake Forest University in 2012. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Virginia in 2015. In June 2020 she completed the Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine fellowship training program at the National Human Genome Research Institute and is ABMGG board-certified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. Dr. Dillon performs translational research focused on developing high sensitivity genomic tools for the detection of measurable residual disease in Acute Myeloid Leukemia patients after treatment, with the goal of predicting which patients may be at risk of relapse and whom may benefit from additional therapy.
