Single cell transcriptomic profiling of leukocytes within whole blood can aid in the identification of prognostic biomarkers, novel drug targets, and mechanisms of disease. Historically, the rapid degradation of RNA requires that gene expression assays be performed within 24-48 hours post blood draw. In this workshop, 10x Genomics and STEMCELL Technologies will present a whole blood fixation and processing protocol that stabilizes leukocyte (including PBMC) gene expression profiles for up to seven days and enables standardized sample processing and biologically accurate single cell gene expression profiles using EasySepTM Direct PBMC isolation and the Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression Flex assay.
