This presentation will attempt to summarize some aspects that laboratories may need to consider when detecting and analyzing acquired variants in germline genetic testing. A few specific case examples will also be provided.
After viewing this presentation, attendees should be able to 1) describe some characteristics of acquired variants in germline genetic testing results as well as 2) describe appropriate mechanisms for communicating and reporting the presence of incidental acquired variants to geneticists and genetic counselors.
