Andrew Cameron is a board-certified Clinical Microbiologist. He is a faculty member in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Assistant Director of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. He completed his Ph.D at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he studied high-frequency variation of the gastrointestinal pathogen Campylobacter jejuni. He completed post-doctoral training at the University of Calgary and the Government of Canada, where he studied the genomics of bacterial pathogens. His current research interests include the development of molecular diagnostics for infectious disease, whole-genome sequencing, and comparative genomics of bacterial pathogens and SARS-CoV-2.
