My name is Nitin Agarwal, and I'm a highly skilled Data Scientist at the prestigious University of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center. I have extensive experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and data analysis on the Illumina HiSeq platform. In my previous role as a Senior Scientist in the clinical and translational laboratory, I led a team that performed whole exome sequencing on 69 clinical ocular adnexa marginal zone lymphoma (OAMZLs) specimens. We were able to establish the mutation landscape in these tumors, identify multiple novel genes that are recurrently mutated, deleted, or gained, and characterize novel signaling pathways that are deregulated in OAMZLs.
Currently, I am working in the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, where I'm leading the validation of a targeted leukemia-NGS fusion panel. This screening assay can detect translocation and fusions from leukemia patient specimens, and my expertise in NGS is essential to ensure its successful implementation. With my experience and expertise, I'm confident that we will achieve our goals and make a real difference in the fight against Hematology malignancies.
