Dr. Rasha Alfattal's career embodies a unique blend of clinical acumen and a relentless pursuit of innovation in medicine. Beginning her journey as an anesthesiologist in Baghdad, Iraq, she developed a deep expertise in patient care and critical decision-making. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Alfattal transitioned into the Investigational Cancer Therapeutics (ICT) department at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where her exposure to groundbreaking research ignited a profound interest in molecular pathology.
Driven by a desire to further her knowledge, Dr. Alfattal pursued a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at UTMB-Galveston. Currently, she is advancing her expertise as a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellow and will soon embark on a Neuropathology fellowship at Houston Methodist. This forthcoming chapter in her career represents the perfect synthesis of her clinical foundation and her passion for uncovering the molecular underpinnings of disease.
With a focus on pioneering diagnostics and treatment strategies for oncologic neurological conditions, Dr. Alfattal is dedicated to advancing the field of modern pathology. Her work is poised to make significant contributions to both research and patient care, as she continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in medical science.
