Dr. Fisher is an Associate Professor of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Molecular Oncology Laboratory in the Division of Genomic Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Rice University in Houston, TX and his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. His area of practice is clinical molecular testing for a myriad of childhood disorders including targeted next-generation sequencing DNA and RNA panels and cancer cytogenomic arrays for CNS tumors, other solid tumors, and leukemias, pharmacogenetic assays, and select inherited disorders. He is the fellowship director for the BCM molecular genetic pathology fellowship and is the hemepathology representative to the AMP Training and Education committee. He also serves on the AMP Memberships Affairs committee.
