Michael Alberti, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. He completed combined MD/PhD training in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), followed by Clinical Pathology (CP) residency training at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) fellowship training and postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Alberti's research lab is interested in understanding the genetic and molecular basis of splicing factor gene mutations in clonal hematopoiesis and myeloid malignancies, such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). As a molecular pathologist, his clinical interests include molecular testing for hematologic malignancies.
