Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellow
Mass General Brigham
Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States
Mark F. Sabbagh, MD, PhD is currently an Anatomic Pathology Resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital following the completion of an intercalated Harvard Medical School Molecular Genetics Pathology Fellowship combined between Mass General Brigham and Boston Children's Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University in Neuroscience and received his medical and doctoral degrees from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he studied molecular mechanisms of vascular endothelial cell diversity with a focus on blood-brain barrier specialization. His academic interests include genome structure and function, in particular how genomic, cellular, and tissue contexts enable oncogenicity of specific molecular alterations; improvement of routine bioinformatics pipelines within the molecular diagnostic lab; and clinical adaptation of whole genome sequencing and epigenetic profiling technologies to expand what is diagnostically possible and to provide data to fuel discovery.
