Dr. Kenneth Muldrew is an associate professor in the Departments of Pathology & Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. He is a physician with board certifications from the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology, and Medical Microbiology. He has extensive experience in molecular infectious diseases technology, applications, assay design, assay validation, and implementation in clinical diagnostic laboratories.
He has 35 peer-reviewed publications, 4 book chapters, and 36 meeting abstracts in clinical pathology in predominantly molecular infectious diseases testing. His research area involves utilization of cutting-edge technologies in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. He has actively participated in the mission of AMP as a member of the clinical practice committee and the infectious diseases subcommittee.
As a faculty senator and associate professor, he is involved in advancing medical education including training students, medical residents, and fellows in the practice of clinical pathology, molecular diagnostics, and medical microbiology. He has also contributed to the ACGME Medical Milestones 2.0 document for fellowship training evaluation in medical microbiology as a member of the Medical Microbiology Milestones work group.
