Dr. Shiva Sathyanarayana is a Research Scientist and Instructor in the Laboratory of Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He completed his postdoctoral research in neuroscience at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, followed by a molecular diagnostic fellowship at the Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology Laboratory at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He has a PhD and MS (Genetics) from the University of Mysore, India and an M.Phil in Genetics from PRIST University, India. He has been actively involved in validation efforts for optical genome mapping, cfDNA extraction method for liquid biopsy, next-generation sequencing curation for somatic cancers, and other test designs and implementations. He is also involved in the regulatory review of CAP guidelines for the clinical molecular laboratory and actively participates in molecular case sign-outs of solid tumors. He is also instrumental in evaluating new technology platforms and assays for clinical implementation. His research has been published in high-impact journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, PLOS Genetics, Clinical Chemistry, Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine, Journal of Hematopathology, BMC, and others.
