John M. Skaugen, M.D. (he/him/his), is an assistant professor of pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPMC). He is a full-time molecular pathologist in the Molecular & Genomic Pathology laboratory who is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic, clinical, and molecular genetic pathology. His clinical and research interests include the molecular diagnostics, including next generation sequencing, whole transcriptomes sequencing, and whole genome methylation profiling, of central nervous system (CNS) and soft tissue tumors.
