Marco L. Leung, PhD, FACMG is a Clinical Director at the Steve and Cindy Rasmussen Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH), and an Assistant Professor at the Departments of Pathology and Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH. He is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomes. He obtained his PhD at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX studying tumor evolution and intratumor heterogeneity using single-cell sequencing in Nicholas Navin’s laboratory. He then completed his fellowship training at the University of Chicago. Following the completion of his fellowship in 2018, he served as the Assistant Clinical Director at the Center for Applied Genomics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for two years. In 2020, he joined IGM where he has been involved in clinical case sign-out and molecular assay development.
Dr Leung is the Associate Program Director of the Clinical Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellowship at NCH. He is currently the Vice Chair of The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) Advocacy & Government Affair Committee, the Chair of the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Working Group, Chair of the Lab Program Director Special Interest Group for Association of Professor of Human and Medical Genetics, a member of the College of American Pathologists Genomic Medicine Committee, a curator of the ClinGen Retina Gene Curation Expert Panel, and a member of the NCH Institutional Review Board.
